Stephen was recently interviewed by Chris Christou on the End of Tourism podcast. This is what Chris had to say about their time together:
This past August, in front of a group of stalwart scholars and stewards of the Orphan Wisdom endeavour, seated in the very teaching hall that for so long housed deep learning, laughter, and grief, I had the great honour of conjuring a series of questions for Stephen regarding his new book and the place of radical hospitality in it. For almost two hours, Stephen spoke from heart and hearth, taking to task the wedding industry, strangerhood and psychic sameness, unveiling the depths of the host-guest relationship, and the alchemy of hospitality long practiced on his farm. With a special appearance from his wife Nathalie, Stephen wove memory, mystery and matrimony, summoning the way it is, while pleading with us to inhabit the way it all could be, and sometimes is.
