Two Pieces of News
Last week a mix of Orphan Wisdom Scholars and Orphan Wisdom Scribes gathered in the Great Hall to transcribe a 2017 recording. Then this past weekend we were joined by another handful of folks and Stephen Jenkinson sat with Janeta Kobes and Andrew McLuhan to present The Jesus Session. The weather Gods gathered – all of them, it seemed: sleet, driving snow, blazing winter sun, and the Hall there to warm our bones and welcome us. It was that kind of a high calibre weekend, and we have decided to keep the event page open for ticket sales until the end of the month for those that are only now getting word of the gathering.
The filmed weekend event will be made available to all who register before the end of January.

The Scriptorium has indeed found it’s feet.
Our Scriptorium team continues to work on various transcriptions from the comfort of their own homes but come January, when Old Man Winter has covered this land in snow, we kindled little fires in the woodstoves of the Guesthouse and the Great Hall for the Boreal Session scribes. Huddled in warmth, we gave ourselves to curating a transcription from the vault of Stephen’s collected works.
Last night around the table we marvelled at how fine the company of the Boreal Session Scribes has been, and spoke of the honour to have had this work to attend to together. Khadija and I are committed to hosting another Boreal Session next Winter. I am taking this opportunity, to express my gratitude to all of our Scriptorium Founding Patrons, to those of you who participated in the fundraiser.
In addition to having access to The Scriptorium Library, which hosts a plethora of Stephen’s works, three additional highlights about being a Scriptorium Lineage member are: monthly Scriptorium Reflections with Stephen, discounts on events, and early news on all events. Your contribution of $12 a month goes a long way to continue to build Stephen Jenkinson’s archival work.

We couldn’t predict that we’d have that good fortune of seeing Stephen be driven, with the vitality he presently has, to continue his good work. For the foreseeable future, Orphan Wisdom will continue to offer a few in-person events. Stay tuned, for we’ll soon be announcing our 2026 dates.
